A True Oasis

As far as lifestyles of the rich and famous go, I guess you could say that I lived vicariously through my brother for a year or two when he started working in the luxury yachting industry. His best adventures were upon the massive 194.9ft (59.4m) superyacht, the Oasis, which traversed the richest islands of the Caribbean and Mediterranean, even dropping in at the Cannes Film Festival for a night of rather eventful partying.

Oasis is a custom motor yacht which was built in 2006 by German company Lürssen Yachts, well known for their many superyachts including Azzam, the largest private yacht in the world at 180m in length. The lavish interior and exterior owe thanks to Glade Johnson Design, who created a feel of elegance including some impressive leisure and entertainment facilities perfect for socials and entertaining.

Oasis can accommodate 12 guests in her dazzling master suite, VIP stateroom, 3 double cabins and 1 twin cabin. The master suite lies on the main deck and boasts a king-size bed, walk-in closets, annexed lounge including a 50-inch plasma screen TV, private office with a further 42-inch plasma TV and a jacuzzi-embellished his and hers marble bathroom. If that isn't enough, the VIP stateroom holds a queen-size bed, another exquisite marble bathroom with a walk-in shower, walk-in closet and its own 42-inch plasma TV.
The double cabins are similarly kitted out, with the twin cabin on the lower deck housing two single beds. All the above accommodation also has an AMX control for all room functions, including music and movies on demand. Oasis also accommodates 15 crew members to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience for all guests on board.

The rest of the luxury features include a deck jacuzzi, gym, WiFi access, piano, outdoor cinema and plenty of toys to play with such as 3 jet-skis, 2 segways, 2 kayaks, but to name a few! In the Summer you'll find her cruising the luxury of the Mediterranean, including places such as Monaco (for the Grand Prix), Porto Cervo in Sardinia (for the Rolex cup and other superyacht races), Bonofatio in Italy (where Louise Vuitton has his home), Turkey, St Tropez, Greece, and as mentioned above, Cannes.

In winter the Oasis travels to the Caribbean for a more relaxed atmosphere, including St Bart's where nearly everyone who is anyone spends their Christmas and New Years throwing incredible parties worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

If you're keen to hop on board chartering this beauty, costs include €345 000 (low season) to €375 000 (high season) per week plus expenses which rounds off to approximately $422 500 to $459 000, for the Mediterranean. If you'd rather spend your days in the Caribbean, then you'd be looking at $399 000 to $420 000 per week plus expenses.

So, what are you waiting for? If you're looking for the perfect luxury holiday, this is probably it!

A Million Dollar Start to 2018

We all celebrate the new year, a fresh start and the anticipation of things to come as we set our goals and go full speed ahead. Now imagine starting 2018 off with a winning lotto ticket, a ticket worth $450 million to be exact.

One lucky and, as yet, still unidentified person has done just that. According to sources, the quick pick winning ticket was bought at a 7-Eleven in Port Richey. The winning numbers were 28, 30, 39, 59 and 70, with the Mega Ball being 10. The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega Ball? A vast 1 to 302.6 million!

In order to claim the Mega Millions jackpot in Florida, players cannot remain anonymous. They must, perhaps unfortunately, reveal their name, city of residence and details of the winnings. Luckily nothing as specific as their exact street address or phone number!

The winner however has two options when claiming their prize: If they come forward within 180 days they receive an immediate payment followed by increasing annual payments for the next 29 years or if they come forward within 60 days they may claim a full cash pay-out. If the winner in this instance claims the full cash prize they will receive a rather nice sum of $281 million, a sight lower than the actual jackpot but definitely not an amount to scoff at.

This win is also not the only one from Friday night’s draw. In total, 2 935 086 players won prizes across all levels. One winner with a ticket from the same 7-eleven won $100 000; seems like perhaps Port Richey was quite aptly named.

This $450 million win is quite astounding in that it is the fourth largest in Mega Millions history, with the top win being a $656 million jackpot in 2012. It is also the tenth largest prize in any U.S lottery. Now that’s the way to welcome in a new year!

The Mega Millions jackpot was reset to $40 million for the draw today. Don’t miss out!
